Hoffman grants the Motion Picture and Television Fund and illustrator Nicholas Volpe "a one-time use of my likeness as illustrated by Nicholas Volpe in reference to my performance in Kramer vs. Kramer to be used in the fund-raising coupon book entitled, 'Heart of Hollywood''". Also signed by a witness. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Stapled at upper left corner. Otherwisel, fine condition. With photocopy of the likeness mentioned (stapled to first page). Lightly creased with folds. Lightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition. The emergence of Dustin Hoffman (b.1937) heralded the arrival of a new era of Hollywood stardom. Diminutive, wiry and unassuming, he was anything but the usual matinee idol, yet he quickly distinguished himself among the most popular and celebrated screen performers of his generation. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1980, and Rain Man, 1989) in addition to earning five Oscar nominations (The Graduate, 1968; Midnight Cowboy, 1970; Lenny, 1975; Tootsie, 1983; and, Wag the Dog, 1998). Recently, Hoffman was seen as Ben Stiller's (Greg Focker's) father in Meet the Fockers (2004), the sequel to the highly successful Meet the Parents (2000). Two items.
