He has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1980, and Rain Man, 1989) in addition to earning five Oscar nominations (The Graduate, 1968; Midnight Cowboy, 1970; Lenny, 1975; Tootsie, 1983; and, Wag the Dog, 1998).
