Autograph Sentiment Signed: “Kind Regards/ Hugo Rignold” 3x4. Hugo Rignold (1905-1976) was an English conductor. He trained as a violinist, and went on to record with a number of jazz and dance bands, and eventually helming his own London Casino Orchestra in the 1920s and 1930s. He began to conduct classical orchestras during the Second World War. Rignold served as the Musical Director of the Royal Ballet from 1957 to 1960. Subsequently, he became the conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 1960 to 1968, which is perhaps the post for which he is best remembered. Corners worn, with heavy creasing at upper and lower right-hand corner. Scattered foxing and staining throughout. Mounting residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
