LEE MARVIN
He signs a 1970 document, pledging to comply with a concurrent contract for his appearance on the ABC Chevrolet Special.
Documentary Signed: "Lee Marvin", 1 page, 8½x11. Beverly Hills, California, 1970 August 12. In a typed document letter, identified as "Exhibit A," Marvin attests that he understands the terms of a concurrent agreement between CoBurt Corporation and an independent contractor, Santana Productions, Inc., governing the terms of Marvin's appearance on a television program, the ABC Chevrolet Special. Marvin further commits to observe fully the terms of that agreement, and that there is no legal or other impediment to his doing so. The epitome of a Hollywood tough guy, Lee Marvin (1924-1987) played mostly supporting parts before his breakout role as Lt. Frank Ballinger on TV's M Squad (1957-1960). He won the Academy Award as Best Actor for Cat Ballou in 1965. Among his other well-known films are The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), The Dirty Dozen and Point Blank (both 1967) and The Big Red One (1980). An established star by 1970, Marvin was a frequent TV guest in the years surrounding this contract, appearing on shows hosted by Ed Sullivan, Johnny Carson, David Frost, Dick Cavett, Merv Griffin, and many others. File holes at upper margin. Photocopy mistakes have reproduced at blank margins. Fine condition.
