MARSHA HUNT
Seated in ruffled gown, inscribed in person to collector Saul Goodman
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Saul Goodman/Cordially/Marsha Hunt". B/w, 8x10. Collector's ink stamp on verso dates signature: December 1936. Marsha Hunt (1917-2022) worked as a Powers model until she debuted onscreen in The Virginia Judge (1935). In the 1930s, she appeared in supporting roles in films including Hollywood Boulevard and These Glamour Girls (1939), before moving on to leads in B-movies and supporting roles in major films. Blacklisted during the McCarthy era, she appeared in only a handful of films after 1952, but was seen in the TV series Peck's Bad Girl. Her last film was Johnny Got His Gun (1971). She continues to speak out on political and social issues, including homelessness, world hunger and civil liberties. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Fine condition.
