Playbill for a production of Over Here! at the Shubert Theatre in New York. American actress JANIE SELL was born on October 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. She appeared on stage from 1968 to 1996 and won the 1974 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Over Here!. For the role she also won a 1974 Theatre World Award. Sell also appeared in such Broadway productions as Irene (1973-1974), I Love My Wife (1977-1979), Moon Over Buffalo (1995-1996) and was nominated for a 1980 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. MAXENE ANDREWS (1916-1995) was an actress and singer, member of the famous Andrews Sisters. From 1937 through the 1940s the Andrews Sisters were queens of the radio and juke box. Mostly remembered for their music, rich in sweetness and optimism, the Andrews Sisters were loved by the many troops they tirelessly entertained during WWII. Their upbeat songs, including their signature "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", were perfect morale-builders. During their career, the amazing trio of Patty, Maxene and LaVerne recorded more than 1,800 songs and sold over 90 million records. Brothers ROBERT B. SHERMAN (1925-2012) and Richard M. Sherman (1928-2024) shared 1964 Academy Awards for Best Score and Best Song ("Chim Chim Cheree") from the hit film, Mary Poppins. The brothers, who worked at Disney Studios until the 1970s, were also nominated for Academy Awards for Best Song for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968), Best Score and Best Song for Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971), Best Score for Tom Sawyer (1973), Best Score and Best Song for The Slipper and The Rose (1977) and Best Song for The Magic of Lassie (1978) as well as five Golden Globe nominations. After leaving Disney, the brothers freelanced and wrote a number of screenplays. BETTE HENRITZE, a veteran supporting actress, appeared in no fewer than 25 Broadway plays between 1958 (The Power and the Glory and 2000 (Waiting in the Wings). Fine condition.
