Inscribed Printed Photograph signed in Ink: "To John/ Sincerely/ Rick Jason" in blue ink, b/w, 3½x5½. Rick Jason (1923-2000), born Richard Jacobson, was an American actor most widely recognized for playing 2nd Lt. Gil Hanley in the TV drama Combat! (1962-1967). Growing up in New York, Jason was expelled from a number of prep schools before finally graduating from Rhodes Preparatory School. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Following his return from the war, Jason attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His performance in the 1950 Broadway run of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep garnered him much praise and earned him a Theatre World Award. He went on to appear in many films including Sombrero (1953) The Lieutenant Wore Skirts (1956), and The Wayward Bus (1957). He began appearing on TV in the 1950s, starring first in The Case of the Dangerous Robin (1960-1961) and then in Combat! (1962-1967). Additionally, in the 1960s an 1970s, Jason served in Vietnam on a few different USO tours. In 2000, he published his autobiography: Scrapbooks of My Mind. Gently bowed. Lightly toned. Edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
