Jourdan's breakout role came in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Paradine Case" (1947), but his most notable role was that of Gaston Lachaille in "Gigi" (1958), the Academy Award-winning musical. His charming portrayal of the Parisian playboy earned him global recognition. Other memorable roles included the villainous Kamal Khan in the James Bond film "Octopussy" (1983) and Prince Colwyn in "Swamp Thing" (1982). In addition to his work in cinema, Jourdan made numerous appearances on stage and in television roles. His work in the mini-series "Mistral's Daughter" (1984) is particularly remembered.
