SYLVIA SHORT
The actress pens a short note to Theatre World Founder Daniel Blum, forwarding along publicity materials to appear in an upcoming publication
Autograph note signed: "Nov. 3, 1954/Dear Mr. Blum,/Thank you for your kind/interest. Enclosed is the material/you requested.[items not included]/Your Sincerely/Sylvia Short," in blue ink, 1 page, 6¼x7. Sylvia Short (b.1927) made her Broadway debut in The Carefree Tree (1955) in a small contributing role in the ensemble. Casted often in a supporting role, Short has appeared in no less than 24 films and television shows, some of the more famous including The Birdcage (1996) and I Still Know what you did Last Summer (1998). She was featured in 6 Broadway plays, the last of which being A Life (1980-1981). Daniel Blum founded Theatre World in 1945, serving as its chief editor until his death in 1964. Aided by Norman McDonald and John A. Willis (his successor as chief editor), Blum also conceived what would become the prestigious Theatre World Awards for promising new actors in the New York stage, Broadway and later off-Broadway as well. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
