A veteran of the British stage and television, SAMANTHA BOND (b. 1961) has become familiar to American audiences since she assumed the role of Miss Moneypenny, secretary of the MI-6 Director ("M") in the James Bond films. The fifth Miss Moneypenny, perpetual object of mild flirtations by the superspy, Bond came in with Pierce Brosnan (Goldeneye, 1995) and announced, shortly after he did, her departure from the series following Die Another Day (2002). It was Samantha Bond's Moneypenny who quipped, "Someday, James, you're going to have to make good on all those innuendos." JULIA SAWALHA (b. 1968) is an English actress best known for her role as Saffron Monsoon in the British television series Absolutely Fabulous (1992-2012), though she has notable roles in other series as well, including Dorcas Lane in Lark Rise to Candleford (2008), Janet Wilson in Time Gentleman Please (2000), and Lydia Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (1995). Most popularly a television actress, her film roles have been small in comparison, with one of the most notable being her voice acting as Ginger in the 2000 film Chicken Run. Actress ALISON STEADMAN (b. 1946) has appeared on stage, screen, and film, first establishing herself in plays like The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Abigail's Party (also carrying her role onto the television translation in 1977). Steadman also has a heavy presence on television, where she can be seen in series such as The Wackers (1975), Play for Today (1973), and Crapston Villas (1995).
