Typed Letter signed: "Wally Fromhart", 1 page, 8½x11. Dubuque, Iowa, 1948 December 10. On letterhead of Loras College Department of Athletics addressed to Mr. Eddie Sousa, Livemore, California. In full: "Dear Eddie: First of all I want to apologize for not answering your very nice letter before this late date. I feel highly honored to think that you would include me in your album of autographed pictures. If in some manner this picture of me will make your life a little more pleasant, I want you to know that the pleasure is all mine to be able to help. Hoping that you will someday enjoy a complete recovery from your illness and wishing you a happy holiday season, I remain Sincerely," Wallace Leo Fromhart (1913-2002) was a college football player and coach. He played football in college at the University of Notre Dame. In 1936 he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers but decided to play another season with the Fighting Irish. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and after he returned Fromhart accepted a job as head football coach at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. In 1951 he took an assistant coaching position at the University of Detroit and he became head coach of the team in 1954. He coached the Detroit Mercy until 1958, leaving with a record of 19-25-2.
