In full: "But I was pleased to have your cable, old man- and answered forthwith - by! But I am happy for you and Alice - dear little woman - so write us soon and let me know that everything is O.K. Also received your two letters which came (one of them) the day after I had written you - Read your article in U. S. A. re the Green Room - good work! - Well written, & to the point - I liked it - It's so long since I've seen a [illegible] room it gave me quite a house - sick [illegible] was perinea! This is a short line - but caring bunch to both you & Alice - Glad you like my piece - I think the Rhapsody has good joints - would love to hear you play it. Ann frequently busy - but has time to dream of good music now and then - beautiful The Huns are getting licked which is were unperturbed Yours"   Violinist Albert Spalding (1890-1953), the son and nephew of the sporting goods pioneers, James Walter Spalding and Albert Spalding, made his Paris debut in 1905 at the age of 17 and his American debut in 1908 at Carnegie Hall at the age of 20. He was the first American violinist to enjoy international popularity. He later taught at Juilliard (1933-1944) and composed for violin and piano. Fold creases through "r" of Albert.
