PAUL LYNDE
Originally signed photocopy of Standard AFTRA contract for Lynde to appear on the Kraft Music Hall
Photocopy Contract signed: "Paul Lynde" in ink, 1p, 8½x11. New York, 1968 April 19. Agreement between Lynde and Yorkshire Productions for Lynde to appear on the Kraft Music Hall in the "Greater New York City area or Greater Los Angeles area" for "$5,000.00 for services on first program, $5,000.00 for services on second program. In addition, one (1) round trip ticket (if used), Los Angeles-New York for each program first class, jet air." The Kraft Music Hall aired on NBC from 1967-1971. Beginning with the 1963 Disney film Son of Flubber, comic actor Lynde (1926-1982, born in Mount Vernon, Ohio) played a series of movie character parts in which he made snide, cynical comments about everyone and everything. His notable performances include the long-suffering father in Broadway's Bye Bye Birdie and Uncle Arthur on TV's Bewitched. During the late 1970s, Lynde cultivated a fan following for his wisecracking appearances in the "center square" on the TV celebrity quizzer, Hollywood Squares. Staple holes at upper margin. Lightly creased. Overall, fine condition.
