RICH LITTLE
B/w photo of a young Little in an open-chested shirt, signed "Best Wishes"
Inscribed photograph signed "To Jeff/Best Wishes/Rich Little". With pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 8x10¼ overall, 7½x9¼ overall, one surface. Little, born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1938, also known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices", is a Canadian comedian and actor who specializes in impersonations of politicians and celebrities. Little began performing in night clubs at age 17. After performing in Ottawa's Little Theatre and working as a disk jockey, Little was asked by Mel Tormé to audition for a variety show he was producing for Judy Garland. This was Little's big break, and he went to frequent appearances on variety and talk shows, along with frequent appearances on Dean Martin's Celebrity Roasts. Little is known for the sheer number of impersonations that he could do, with TV specials on the networks and cable devoted entirely to his impersonations. Little also acting credits in over 50 movies and TV shows. Most of these are guest star roles on TV shows, with the exception of Love on a Rooftop (1966-1967), a short-lived sitcom where he played eccentric neighbor Stan Parker. Lightly bowed. Paper clip impressions at top edge. Light spotting and scratches on image (not visible head-on). Otherwise in fine condition.
