MARC SINGER (born in 1948 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada) played Dar and TANYA ROBERTS (1955-2021) was slave girl Kiri in this first installment (1982) of the Beastmaster series. The fantasy, which also starred Rip Torn as vicious sorcerer Maax and John Amos as Seth, was the first of three outings in the role for Singer, who later appeared in Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time (1991) and Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus (1995). Singer, who had debuted in films in Go Tell the Spartans (1978), is perhaps best known for appearing in several TV miniseries, including Roots: The Next Generations (1979), The Contender (1980) and V (1984-1985). He has also made several TV movies and appeared on numerous TV series, including a recurring role on Dallas (1986). After experience as a model and off-Broadway actress, Roberts began appearing in film roles such as Tourist Trap (1979) and Sheena, Queen of the Jungle (1984). In 1980, she was hired to play streetwise Julie Rogers, the last of a long line of replacement actresses in TV's Charlie's Angels.  After her single Angels season, Roberts went back to movies, primarily horror films and high-class, soft-focus erotica. She exhibited an engaging flair for self-parody as luscious secretary Velda in the made-for-TV Mike Hammer: Murder Me, Murder You (1983) and starred in the first four seasons of FOX TV's hit series That 70s Show (1998-2002).
