the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, was co-recipient with colleague
Max Perutz of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1962) "for their studies of the
structure of globular proteins." Kendrew mapped in atomic detail, the
structure of myoglobin, a protein found in muscle, the function of which is to
take oxygen from hemoglobin. Fine condition.
