Postcard Photograph signed: "Marius Russo". B/w, 3½x5½ postcard. Marius Russo
(1914-2005), born in Brooklyn, pitched for the New York Yankees from 1939 through 1943,
and, after serving in the Army Signal Corps, briefly in 1946. He was a left-handed sidearm
pitcher with good control. Russo's best season was 1941, when he led the Yankees in
strikeouts, complete games and innings pitched; threw a one-hitter; and made the All-Star
team. Russo played key roles in the Yankees World Series victories over the Dodgers
(1941) and Cardinals (1943). Fine condition.
