4x4. One week after her photo as an Arizona University freshman appeared in Life
magazine, Nancy Guild (1925-1999) was offered a Hollywood contract. 20th
Century Fox promoted her with the slogan, "Guild rhymes with wild." She
never attained top-flight stardom, but was the leading lady of several films,
beginning with Somewhere in the Night (1946). She had a major role in
Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951). Guild made frequent
appearances on the TV playhouses of the early 1950s. She left film not long
after her marriage to acting teacher and director Ernest Martin, but reappeared
in Such Good Friends (1971). Lightly toned. Fine
condition.
