Albert Spalding signs an autograph musical manuscript of three bars of music.
Autograph Musical Quotation signed: "Albert Spalding/1941", 1p, 4¾x3. Three bars of
music penned across a sheet of vertical preprinted staves. Violinist Albert Spalding
(1890-1953), the son and nephew of the sporting goods pioneers, James Walter Spalding and
Albert Spalding, made his Paris debut in 1905 at the age of 17 and his American debut in
1908 at Carnegie Hall at the age of 20. He was the first American violinist to enjoy
international popularity. He later taught at Juilliard (1933-1944) and composed for violin
and piano. Lightly shaded and soiled in blank area. Mounting remnants on verso. Fine
condition.
