The Governor of Maryland signs a letter to Ralph E. Ward.
Typed Letter signed: "Theodore McKeldin", 1 page, 8½x11. Annapolis, Maryland, 1952 February 7. On letterhead of the Executive Department, Theodore R. McKeldin Governor, addressed to Mr. Ralph E. Ward, Jr. Melrose Highlands, Massachusetts. In full: "Dear Mr. Ward: In response to your letter of recent date, I am happy to enclose my autograph [Not included] which you requested. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours," Theodore Roosevelt McKeldin (1900-1974) was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He was Mayor of Baltimore (1943-1947), (1963-1967) and the 53rd Governor of Maryland (1951-1959). From the collection Ralph Errington Ward (1926-2009) a fighter pilot and squadron commander in the China-Burma-India Theater of World War II. Ward became President and CEO of Cheseborough-Ponds, Inc., transforming the cosmetics firm into a major home product conglomerate. Three filing holes at right edge. Multiple mailing folds. Lightly toned. Lightly worn. Adhesive residue show through at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
