He has also penned the names of bandmates Don and Al. An immigrant from Turkey, Jerry Murad (1918-1996) formed the group the Harmonicats in the mid 1940's, known for their harmonica stylings. Originally formed with other members Bob Hadamik, Pete Pedersen, and Al Fiore, the group eventually downgraded to a trio consisting of Murad, Fiore, and bass harmonica player Don Les. Their most popular recording was "Peg O' My Heart", which sold over one million copies by 1950 and reached number one on the Billboard chart. Other popular songs included "Hair of Gold, Eyes of Blue" and "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White". In addition to performing, Murad also wrote several books on harmonica instruction. Corners lightly worn and creased. Light surface creases. Left edge soiled. Slightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
