NORA WALN (1895-1964) was a bestselling American author and journalist, typically writing about her travels in Europe and Asia. She spent twelve years in China living with an exiled family, with her time there becoming he basis for her bestselling book The House of Exile. Waln later moved to Germany and wrote of the expanding Nazi movement, publishing one of the first exposés on Nazism, Reaching for the Stars (1939). Inbetween her books, Waln contributed articles and stories to several magazines and papers, writing primarily for the Saturday Evening Post and Atlantic Monthly. MARTHA KELLER (1902-1971) wrote historic poems. She published two books of poetry - Mirror to Mortality (1937) and Brady's Bend and Other Ballads (1946) - and the children's book War Whoop of the Wily Iroquois (1954). EDITH T. SCARLETT was an American artist and painter. Binding holes on left margin. Lightly toned. Light surface creases. Fingerprint markings on right margin. Slightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
