In the film, Jack Lemmon plays a dying Broadway press agent who is visited by his son (played by Robby Benson). A private school-educated everyman who could play outrageous comedy and wrenching tragedy, Jack Lemmon (1925-2001) burst onto the movie scene as a 1950s Columbia contract player and remained a beloved star until his death. Whether through humor or pathos, he excelled at illuminating the struggles of average men against a callous world; as director Billy Wilder once noted, "There was a little bit of genius in everything he did." Lemmon won the 1955 Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Ensign Pulver in Mister Roberts. He also won the 1973 Academy Award for Best Actor for portraying garment manufacturer Harry Stoner in Save the Tiger. Lemmon received Best Actor Oscar nominations for Some Like It Hot, The Apartment, Days of Wine and Roses, The China Syndrome, Tribute and Missing. Actor Robby Benson (born in 1956) debuted on Broadway at age 14 and later starred in the daytime soap Search for Tomorrow (1971-1972). He appeared in several films as a sensitive teen, notably Jeremy (1973). One of his many successful voice-over roles was as Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (1991). His many TV guest appearances include a recurring role in American Dreams (2002-2003).Slightly creased at top left. Slightly worn at corners. Otherwise, fine condition.
