Contract signed: "Ed McMahon", 2p, front and verso with 3p rider, 8½x12. Beverly Hills, California, 1987 May 4. Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract between Ed McMahon and George Schlatter Productions for his appearance on The American Comedy Awards, for which he will be compensated initially $2,500.00 for the initial broadcast nothing for the first rebroadcast and $492.00 for the second, $328.00 for the third, fourth, and fifth, $65.60 for the sixth and $32.80 for all the others after that. Ed McMahon (1923-2009), who previously worked with Johnny Carson on the TV quiz show Who Do You Trust? (1958-1962), then served as Carson's announcer on The Tonight Show (1962-1992), with his famous introductory line, "Heerre's ... Johnny". McMahon hosted other TV quiz and variety programs, including the talent contest Star Search (1983-1995). He is perhaps equally famous for being a spokesman for the Publishers' Clearinghouse contest. Lightly creased. Staple at upper left. Overall, fine condition.
