THE LADY FROM CHEYENNE MOVIE CAST, CO-SIGNED BY: LORETTA YOUNG and WILLIE BEST
This black and white publicity photograph from the western themed film is signed by Young and has a sentiment written by Best
Photograph signed: "Loretta Young" with Annotated Note Unsigned by Willie Best: "Thank Loot for for 'Lucky Mis-Comby can't'/To Full-Full on Dead." B/w, 8x10. LORETTA YOUNG (1903-2000) appeared in films as a child extra from age 4. Growing up in silent movies, she had become an established star by the 1930s. She won an Oscar as Best Actress for The Farmer's Daughter (1947) and was nominated for the same award for Come to the Stable (1949). She hosted a TV teleplay, The Loretta Young Show (1953-1961), introducing each program in a fashionable dress and acting in about half of them, winning three Emmy awards. WILLIE BEST (1916-1962) was an American actor and comedian who performed demeaning, stereotyped roles with great skill and comic timing. Bob Hope once called him "the finest actor I knew." Best appeared in more than one hundred films of the 1930s and 1940s, although for years he was billed only as "Sleep n' Eat." Prominent roles included The Ghost Breakers (1940) and The Red Stallion (1947). Corners rounded. Lightly creased. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
