In full: "Gentlemen: In consideration of the publicity to be given to me and which may arise herefrom, my consent is hereby irrevocably given to you, your assignees and licensees, and to the Chicago Tribune-New York News Syndicate, Inc., to use my name, picture, or portrait, in publications for editorial or promotional purposes, excluding, however, commercial advertising. Very truly yours". Maximilian Schell (1930-2014) won the 1961 Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as defense attorney Hans Rolfe in Judgment at Nuremberg, and he was nominated for Oscars for Best Actor for The Man in the Glass Booth (1975) and Julia (1977). In 1970, Schell won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film as Producer-Director-Screenwriter of Erste Liebe/First Love. In 1961, while garnering Oscar honors, Schell also played Hamlet in a TV production of Shakespeare's play. Corners slightly worn and creased. Light surface creases. Fine condition.
