Steve McQueen (1930-1980) played a police detective in the film, portraying him in the stunt-driving role typical of his anti-hero image. McQueen had his first starring film role in The Blob (1958), the same year he began a three-year run as a moody bounty hunter in TV's Wanted: Dead or Alive. McQueen was nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for The Sand Pebbles (1966). Among his many other movie hits were The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), The Cincinnati Kid (1965) and Papillon (1973). He was married to actress Ali MacGraw from 1973-1977. Writing light but legible. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 15½ x 23¼. Frame exhibits wearing at corners.

GALE SAYERS Golden Helmet award presentation plaque, signed by Sayers on the golden helmet Ephemera signed: "Gale Sayers" 20x12. Wooden base containing an engraved plaque honoring Sayers with the Golden Helmet Award, bearing the NFL logo and presented by the Coca Cola Company. On the right side of the base is a golden half-helmet, plastic, signed by Sayers in black sharpie. Hall of Famer Sayers (1943-2020), called "the Kansas comet" for his college play at KU, starred in seven seasons with the Chicago Bears. For his first entire season, Gale scored 22 touchdowns and 132 points, both then-rookie records. Quiet, unassuming, and always ready to compliment a teammate for a key block, Sayers continued to sizzle in 1967 and well into the 1968 season. Then, in the ninth game, Sayers suffered a knee injury that required immediate surgery. After a tortuous rehabilitation program, Gale came back in 1969 in a most spectacular manner, winding up with his second 1,000-yard rushing season and universal Comeback of the Year honors. But injuries continued to take their toll and, just before the 1972 season, Gale finally had to call it quits. In his relatively short career, he compiled a record that can never be forgotten.

This Jets team, 11-3 in the regular season, defeated the Oakland Raiders 27-23 in the AFL Championship game, and then whipped the heavily favored Baltimore Colts 16-7 to bring the American Football League its first Super Bowl victory. Signers here include quarterback Namath, running backs Boozer and Snell, receivers Maynard and Lammons, and 7 participants in that seasons Pro Bowl (Namath, Atkinson, Boozer, Elliot, Herman, Hill and Maynard). Signatures unusually bold and clear for having been signed on a piece of athletic equipment. Fine condition.
CAL RIPKEN, JR. Baseball used during the Hall of Famer's 2,131st consecutive game, voted "Baseball's Most Memorable Moment" Baseball signed: "Cal Ripken Jr." Rawlings Official American League "Gene A. Budig" baseball. On September 6, 1995, at Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Cal Ripken, Jr. surpassed Lou Gehrig's record of 2,130 consecutive games played. The celebration of that milestone achievement, culminating in Ripken's "victory lap" around the stadium, was BASEBALL'S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT as selected by more than 1.1 million fans in balloting sponsored by MasterCard and announced by Major League Baseball before Game 4 of the 2002 World Series. The milestone by the Baltimore Orioles' shortstop received 282,821 votes. The excitement and emotions generated on that evening also helped ease the pain of the 1994-1995 players' strike and greatly restored the National Pastime's tarnished image in the heart's of many fans. To further commemorate that historic event, Rawlings provided specially designed game balls which were used only during Ripken's record tying and record breaking games.

BENNY LEONARD Vintage pair of boxing gloves signed by Leonard. Boxing Gloves inscribed and signed: " 11/17/19 To My Friend / Harold Levy / From Benny Leonard". Brown ink. Inscription inside left glove. Benny Leonard (1896-1947) was World Lightweight Champion from 1917 to 1925, when he retired. Financially ruined by the Crash of 1929, he successfully returned to the ring in 1931 and 1932. Leonard suffered a fatal heart attack in New York's St. Nicholas Arena on April 18, 1947 while refereeing a fight. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. Fragile condition. Leather is cracked and exhibits some shedding. 2-inch tear on right glove. Displayed in acrylic case 22¼ x 30¼ x 13.

Baseball Signed (Game Used): "Cal Ripken, Jr." (on the sweet-spot), "Larry Barron #22", "Greg Kosc/#18", "Al Clark/A.L. Ump/#24" and "Dan Morrison/#34". Official Ball American League, Gene A. Budig, PRES., with "Ripken 8 2130 2131 Orioles" printed on the ball, which was used during the September 6, 1995, game in which Ripken (uniform #8) broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive game playing streak of 2,130 games by playing in his 2,131st consecutive game. The baseball has been signed by Ripken and all four umpires of game #2131. Lightly worn and stained, all signatures legible. Accompanied by TLS: "Dan Morrison", American League Umpire #34. New York, 1995 September 6. On official 8½x11 stationery of The American League of Professional Baseball Clubs. FROM THE MINUTES OF THEIR FIRST MEETING ON JANUARY 18, 1950 TO THEIR DISSOLUTION MEETING ON MAY 21, 1953. The Amsterdam Exhibition Company, Inc. owned the Class C Minor League team, the Amsterdam Rugmakers of the Canadian-American League. The team was organized in 1938. Because of WWII, no games were played during the years 1943-1945 due to the lack of players. Resuming play in 1946, the New York Yankees bought the team after the 1949 season. From 1950-1951, the Amsterdam Rugmakers were the Yankees farm team in the Canadian-American League. When the league disbanded after the 1951 season, so did the team. The Yankees continued ownership, finally dissolving the corporation in 1953. Included is a stock certificate signed: "George M. Weiss" as President of the Amsterdam Exhibition Co. and "J. Arthur Friedlund" as Secretary, certifying that "New York Yankees, Inc.
ANDRE AGASSI Tennis racket used by one of the all-time greats when he won a tournament against Pete Sampras. Head tennis racket (unsigned) used in the Key Biscayne tournament in 1995. Head Serial number 93103-84. Accompanied by letter of provenance from Andre's brother Phillip Agassi dated 12/20/1995. Letter in full: “This racket was given to me by my brother Andre. It was used in the tournament Key Biscayne '95' in Florida. Andre won this tournament by beating Pete Sampras in the finals in 3 sets. It is numbered by the Head company to track any problems that exist. It may have been used in one of the Nike commercials. The rubber band is kind of a trademark of Andre, it reduces a lot of vibration and deadens the impact. The serial number on the racket is 93103-84. / Phillip Agassi /12-20-95”. Fine condition. Racket has been framed to an overall size of 34¼ x 33½. 
ARNOLD PALMER The golf legend signs this driver, ball, and photograph. Collection consisting of Golf Ball signed "Arnold Palmer", Driver signed "Arnold Palmer" and Photograph signed "Arnold Palmer". All in fine condition. Legendary golfer Arnold Palmer (1929-2016) won seven major championships during his career, including four Masters Tournament (1958, 1960, 1962, 1964). His 62 PGA Tour victories rank fifth all time, behind Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Sam Snead. Palmer was the first golfer to earn more than $1,000,000 in PGA tournament money. He is credited with popularizing professional golf during the late 1950s and 1960s. Framed to an overall size of 47x20. Framing exhibits wearing at corners. 
ROCKY MARCIANO The Brockton Blockbuster signs loan document just seven months before his death. Partly Printed DS: "Rocky Marciano", 1p, 8½ x 13¾. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, 1969 January 27.Commercial Promissory Note No. 27938 between Marciano and The American National Bank and Trust Company of Fort Lauderdale for $5,000 at seven percent interest. The note was payable 91 days after the date of signing. World Heavyweight Boxing Champion from 1952-1956, Rocky Marciano (1923-1969) signed this unsecured loan just seven months before he died in an airplane crash. The stocky, hard-punching Marciano began boxing while in the U.S. Army during WWII. Turning professional in 1947, "The Brockton Blockbuster" battled his way up to a championship fight with then champ "Jersey Joe" Walcott on September 23, 1952. Down by points going into the 13th round, Marciano needed a knockout to win the heavyweight crown; he smashed a short, right-hand punch onto the chin of Walcott, knocking him unconscious and into the former-champion category.

NOLAN RYAN Collection including a signed baseball used during his 300th victory! Comprises: (1) Baseball signed: "Nolan Ryan" on the sweet-spot, Official American League "Bobby Brown". On July 31, 1990, at Milwaukee's County Stadium, Texas Rangers right hander Nolan Ryan added to his list of legendary mound accomplishments by becoming the 20th pitcher in Major League history to record at least 300 wins during his career. Ryan worked seven and two-thirds innings that night, allowing one earned run and striking out eight. The tying runs were on base in a 5-3 game when Texas manager Bobby Valentine took Ryan out after he had thrown 146 pitches. The Rangers scored six runs in the ninth inning to seal Ryan's victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, 11-3. Moderately soiled. (2) Typed Letter Signed: "Al Clark", 1p, 8x10.
