CHARLIE KUNZ
The pianist pens his name on this black and white, 3½x5½ photograph
Photograph signed: "Sincerely/Charlie Kunz", in black ink, b/w, 3½x5½. Charlie Kunz (1896-1958) was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, but moved to England when he was 26 and lived there for the rest of his life. His orchestra backed up Vera Lynn and Dorothy Squires in the early 1930s. The pianist was so popular that he left his orchestra later in the decade to perform on the BBC and at music halls as a soloist. His popular songs include "Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie" and "Pink Elephants". Corners slightly creased. Edges lightly worn. Fine condition.
