Hill (b. 1923) flew 31 combat missions in a B-24 Liberator with the 566th Bombardment Squadron in the European Theater, World War II. He flew relief shipments during the Berlin Airlift (1949). Rising through a series of increasingly important staff positions, he became Commander in Chief of the Pacific Air Forces in 1977 and Air Force Vice Chief of Staff in 1978. He retired with the rank of 4-star general in 1980. Lightly creased at edges. Fine condition.
