Americana issued for the new Postage Rates 1975", depicts the Wright Flyer
I. Captioned: "The first sustained controlled, powered flight in history
made by 'Wright Flyer I' at Kitty Hawk 1903". British bomber pilot Geoffrey
Cheshire was decorated for his leadership and bravery during WWII. He was one of
the official British observers on Bockscar during the second atomic bomb
mission over Nagasaki. Tape stain at upper right to left of vignette. Fine
condition.
