GILDA RADNER
Annotated Contract signed: "Gilda Radner", 1 page, 8 x 10½. No place, October 31, 1979.
The zany comedienne Gilda Radner signed this October 31, 1979, copyright transfer during the height of her career with the innovative television comedy show Saturday Night Live. Her creation of the outrageous punk-rock queen Candy Slice, who sang the raucous “Gimme Mick”, was a jolting display of her talent. She wrote this song, as well as the others listed in this transfer, with SNL band leader Paul Shaffer. From the debut of NBC's Saturday Night - later renamed Saturday Night Live - on October 11, 1975, to the time she signed this transfer during the show's fifth season, Radner paraded a diverse collection of characters through millions of American viewers' homes. In creating and developing such popular personae as Roseanne Roseannadanna , Emily Litella and Baba Wawa, Radner groomed her comedic abilities while becoming one of the favorites from that talented case of players. In 1977, she won an Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress in Variety. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 30x20.
