JACK LORD
The actor who portrayed Felix Leiter in the James Bond movie Dr. No signed this check payable to Joe Rudnick
Check signed: "Jack Lord", 6x2¾. Los Angeles, California. Dated July 14, 1962. Check No. 663 drawn on his personal account at the City National Bank of Beverly Hills payable to Joe Rudnick for $8.32. Jack Lord (1920-1998) was a Broadway performer and actor who had a number of especially memorable roles. He portrayed Felix Leiter in the first James Bond film Dr. No (1962) thirteen years after he made his screen debut. Soon after, he earned a lead role in the television show Stoney Burke (1962-1963) as the titular character. After a few years spent appearing in various television shows and movies, he nabbed the role that most remember him for. As Steve McGarrett in the Hawaii detective drama Hawaii Five-O (1968-1980), Lord became a star. He starred in all 281 episodes of the hit television show, where his character reported directly to the Governor of Hawaii during his fight against the state's criminal element.  Lord moved to Honolulu when he first started the series in 1968 and lived there until he passed away in 1998. Slightly soiled. Ink note (unknown hand) and staple holes at upper left corner. Bank stamp touches writing and signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
