Document Multi-Signed: "Lee Marvin" and initialed "LM" five times in blue ink and initialed four times by a representative of the Theatre Guild in black ink. Blue and black ink notations on front and verso in unknown hand. 2 pages, 8½x11, 1 sheet, front and verso, with an 8½x1½ rider stapled on verso, two file holes at top, partial carbon copy. Jan. 10, 1957. This document confirmed that Marvin would appear in an unspecified single television broadcast, for which he would receive "1st-star billing". Lightly toned and creased. Staple holes in top left corner. Folded thrice and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition. Accompanied by: Unsigned typed document. Black ink stamp near bottom edge. 1 page, 8¼x10¾, file holes at top and left edge, carbon copy. Titled: "M C A Artists, Ltd./Booking Report". This booking report is for Marvin's appearance in the Theatre Guild production of The Other Side of the Coin, broadcast on The United States Steel Hour, Marvin received $4,000 for this performance, with MCA Artists receiving a 10 percent commission. Lightly toned and creased. Staple holes at top left corner. Carbon copy marks. Otherwise in fine condition. In 1957, Marvin (1924-1957) debuted in his breakout role as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger on the TV series M Squad. He also appeared in the movie Raintree Country and on two other anthology TV series: Climax! And Studio 57. The epitome of a Hollywood tough guy, Marvin (1924-1987) played mostly supporting parts before his breakout role as Lt. Frank Ballinger on TV's M Squad (1957-1960). He won the Academy Award as Best Actor for Cat Ballou in 1965. Among his other well-known films are The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), The Dirty Dozen and Point Blank (both 1967) and The Big Red One (1980). Fine condition.
