The U.S. Senator from Tennessee signs a letter to Ralph E. Ward for his collection.

He was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1952 and 1956, but in 1956, he became the Democratic candidate for Vice President on the ticket headed by Adlai Stevenson, which was defeated in an Eisenhower landslide. From the collection Ralph Errington Ward (1926-2009) a fighter pilot and squadron commander in the China-Burma-India Theater of World War II.
