DINAH SHORE. Carbon Contract signed: "Dinah Shore" in ink as Performer, 2p, 8½x13, front and verso. New York City, 1967 September 26. Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for a Single Television Appearance between Yorkshire Productions and Shore for her appearance as Hostess and Performer on Kraft Music Hall, airing November 22, 1967, for $15,000. Also signed by a representative of Yorkshire Productions, Inc. Dinah Shore (1917-1994), a popular solo songstress, produced such 1940s hits as "Buttons and Bows", "Blues in the Night", "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" and "I'll Walk Alone". She moved on to a successful TV career with a musical show, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956-1962), and a series of talk shows (1970-1980). It has been said that her opening and closing lyrics of the Chevy Show, "See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet...America's the greatest land of all", practically defined the 1950s. Ink smudged at representative's signature. Lightly creased. 1x¾-inch paper loss at upper left blank corner. Staple at mid-left margin, 2 file holes at upper margin, which has pencil note (unknown hand). Ink "x" next to Shore's signature "haloed" with red stain. Overall, fine condition.
