Autograph letter fragment signed: "Very truly yrs/Dudley Buck", 5¾x3. American composer Dudley Buck (1839-1909) was best known for his organ compositions, most famously his Concert Variations on the Star-Spangled Banner, Op. 23. Other notable compositions from Buck include Columbus (1876), Golden Legend (1880), The Light of Asia (1886), and Marmion. The composer also published several books on music and music theory, with the Dictionary of Musical Terms and Influence of the Organ in History being his most influential on the genre. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Top edge frayed and torn. Slight surface creases. Corners slightly worn and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
