The four time Academy Award winner and his wife sign a Deed of Trust on March 27,1941, promising to pay back $7,200.00 with 4½% interest in monthly installments of $45.58.
Deed signed: "Fred Zinneman", "Renne B. Zinneman", 1 page, 8½x14. Santa Monica, California, 1941 March 27. In this document Zinneman and his wife promise to pay back the Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association for Value Received. They agree to pay the sum of 7,200.00 back with 4½% interest in monthly installments of $45.58 commencing on the first day of July1941. The deed is stamped PAID 5/11/51. Fred Zinneman (1907-1997) was an Austrian American film director. He studied law at the University of Vienna and became drawn to films, becoming a cameraman in Germany. He moved to America to study films and after some success with his short films and B mysteries he directed the hit The Seventh Cross, starring Spencer Tracy. While in Hollywood he directed thrillers, westerns and film noir, with nineteen actors in his films receiving an Academy Award nomination. His career spanned six decades in which time his films received sixty five Oscar nominations and won twenty four Academy Awards. He won the Academy Award for directing twice for his films From Here to Eternity and A Man for All Seasons. Filing holes at top.Normal mailing folds.
