(1909-1996, born Feodora Forde in Bremen, Germany), spent most of her career on the
British stage and in British films. She came to Hollywood in the mid-1930s, starring in two
films, We Live Again (1934) and Enchanted April (1935), and becoming romantically
involved with actor Ronald Colman. Baxter, who hated American life, returned to London
to resume her film career and make periodic forays into television. She is perhaps best known
on the small screen as a semi-regular on the acclaimed Upstairs/Downstairs. EVANS
(1888-1976) was an English TV, stage and film actress. Evans made her film debut in 1915,
but dropped film roles for over three decades to concentrate on stage roles. Her first stage
appearance was in 1910 as Viola in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, the first of over 150 roles
over a six-decade career, including roles with the Old Vic Company, which she joined in
1925. She returned to films in 1949 and found steady work in movies and TV thereafter.
Evans was nominated for three Oscars for her roles in Tom Jones (1963), The Chalk
Garden (1964) and The Whisperers (1967). She was made a Dame Commander of the
British Empire in 1946. HARRISON (1892-1995, born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England)
was a veteran of 100 movies and TV shows between 1915 and 1979. She got her start in a
minor role in 1915's Our Boys, then debuted on the London stage in a 1926 production of
The Constant Flirt. She returned to films in Hobson's Choice (1931). Harrison appeared in
several adaptations of Charles Dickens' novels, including Oliver Twist (1948) Scrooge (1951)
and The Pickwick Papers (1952) and British TV adaptations of Martin Chuzzlewit (1964)
and Our Mutual Friend (1976). She also appeared as Emily Huggett in a popular series of
films about the Huggetts, the British answer to MGM's Hardys: Holiday Camp (1948), Here
Come the Huggetts (1948), Vote for Huggett (1948) and The Huggetts Abroad (1949).
OLIVER (1898-1964, born Viktor Oliver Von Samek in Vienna, Austria), was a British
actor/comedian. He was alsoan accomplished violinist and one of the first comedians to
incorporate his musical talents into a comedy act. In addition to appearing on stage, Oliver
was featured in several films, including Rhythm in the Air (1936), Meet Mr. Penny and I'll
Be Your Sweetheart (1945), and he was a regular on the TV series, Hotel Imperial (1958).
