Actor/singer MONTE HALE (1919-2009) was discovered by a scout with Republic Pictures while performing in USO shows during WWII. Hired as a possible replacement for Roy Rogers, Hale was relegated to supporting roles in such serials as The Purple Monster Strikes before starring in his own films beginning in 1947. After leaving Republic in 1950, Hale appeared on stage with country-western bandleader Ray Whitley. He made his last film appearance in 1955 in Giant. After small roles in films such as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), ADRIAN BOOTH became a star in "B" action movies for Columbia and then Republic films. Her prominent film roles began with Valley of the Zombies (1946) and concluded with The Sea Hornet (1951). Before becoming Adrian Booth in 1946, she went by the names of Virginia "Ginger" Pound (vocalist for Roger Pryor's band) and Lorna Gray. She was married to actor David Brian from 1949 until his death in 1993. By mid-2001, Booth was one of the last surviving cast members of the early Columbia "Three Stooges" shorts. Ink lightly beaded at one word of Booth's writing. Minor surface creases (most not evident head on). Overall, fine condition.
