CLARK GREGG The actor known for playing Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe signs this index card in black ink Inscribed Signature: “To Joe/ Clark Gregg” in black ink, 5x3. Robert Clark Gregg (b. 1962) is an actor. He is probably best known for playing agent Phil Coulson in a number of films and the television shows that comprise the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most prominently Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Two of the other notable TV roles he's played are Agent Mike Casper in The West Wing (1999-2006) and Jack's boyfriend Cam on Will & Grace (1998-2006). After dropping out of Ohio Wesleyan University, Gregg moved to New York and worked odd jobs before attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, from which he graduated in 1986. He is one of the founding members of the Atlantic Theater Company, known for their off-Broadway productions. In addition to acting, Gregg also wrote and directed a number of films; he wrote the screenplay for What Lies Beneath (2000), and wrote the screenplay and directed both Choke (2008) as well as Trust Me (2013), the latter of which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
