Matchbook signed: "Joey Heatherton" on white front cover, 4½x1½ when opened. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso: "Aug 21, 1970/Other Side Please". In 1970, Heatherton guest starred on an episode of Love, American Style, and she was seen on five talk/variety shows - The Hollywood Palace, Pat Paulsen's Half a Comedy Hour, The Merv Griffin Show, This is Tom Jones and Toast of the Town. Multi-talented singer, dancer and actress Joey Heatherton (born Davenie Johanna Heatherton in 1944) is best remembered as a young sexpot known for her "Lolita" image. The daughter of song-and-dance man Ray Heatherton (1909-1997) and Davenie Ross Watson Heatherton, Joey, who received ballet training as a child, began her career in entertainment on the stage. She received her first national exposure as a regular on The Perry Como Show, where her role as a young co-ed who has a crush on the star propelled her into an acting career. She began guest starring on such TV series as Route 66, The Virginian, Mr. Novak and The Nurses as well as performing as herself on a long list of variety and talk shows, and Heatherton also appeared in several made-for-TV movies. Heatherton, who made her first feature film, Twilight of Honor (for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer - Female), in 1963, was later seen on the big screen in Where Love Has Gone (1964), My Blood Runs Cold (1965), Bluebeard (1972), The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington (1977), The Perils of P.K. (1986), Cry-Baby (1990) and Reflections of Evil (2002). She also found success with her recordings, and Heatherton displayed both her song and dance talents on several USO tours with Bob Hope. Usual folds, vertical folds at the first "t" and the second "e" of Heatherton. Lightly soiled. Staple holes to left of signature. Overall, fine condition.
