MARGUERITE CHAPMAN
Chapman handwrote and signed this small two-page letter "M C" to a David, telling him
how his friends should send her photos that they wanted autographed.
Autograph letter signed: "M C" on 2nd page. 2 pages, 4x6, On letterhead of White House
Instant Printing, Sherman Oaks, California. Addressed to "David". In full: "Dear David
Should your friends want photos autographed please have them find them somewhere in photo
collection shops as I am keeping what I left [sic] for my memorabilia. I would appreciate enclosed
self addressed stamped envelope with cardboard - as it is added chore for me to go to the post office
for over-size stamps - Thank you. Take care - Good luck to you -". Marguerite Chapman
(1918-1999, born in Chatham, New York) entered films in 1936, playing the (often)
secondary star in many films of the 1940s and 1950s. Examples of her work include the
serial Spycatcher (1942), Relentless (1948) and Bloodhounds of Broadway (1952). A frequent
guest on TV programs of the 1950s, she reappeared in the mid-1970s for spots on Hawaii
Five-0 and Barnaby Jones. Lightly toned. Rounded corners. Pages were torn neatly from pad
at top edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
