Vincent Price signs a contract between himself and the National Broadcasting Company, Inc.
Carbon Contract signed: "Vincent Price" in ink as Performer, 4p, 8½x11, front and verso. New York, 1963 July 8. "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract - Network Television" for "Single Broadcast or Multiple Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week" between Price and the National Broadcasting Company, Inc. for Price's appearance as the "Narrator" for the program Exploring, which was aired on June 2, 1963. Price, who has also written his social security number (blacked out on scan) beneath his signature, was paid $210 for his services. Also signed: "Richard A. Kelly" for the National Broadcasting Company, Inc. In the year he signed this contract, Price starred in five feature films - Twice-Told Tales, The Haunted Palace, Beach Party, Diary of a Madman and The Raven - and narrated Tabú I. A master of the horror genre, Vincent Price (1911-1993) starred in such other spine-tingling films as House of Wax (1953), The Fly (1958), The Fall of the House of Usher (1960), The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971). The actor, also a veteran of Broadway, stage and serious films, was also a noted art expert and collector. Price frequently lectured on art and published several books on the subject. Lightly creased with folds, not at signatures. Staple holes and date stamp at upper left corner. Fine condition.
