Lawyer James T. Brady (1815-1869) gained national prominence for his
notorious clients and murder cases. In 1859, he used the then-novel defense
of temporary insanity in successfully defending Congressman Daniel E. Sickels
after Sickels killed Philip Barton Key, son of Francis Scott Key, whom he had
accused of having an affair with his wife. Irregularly cut. Slight surface
creases. Slightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
