Painter, sculptor, and author Charles Bragg (1931-2017) was a social satire artist. His art has been exhibited in museums and galleries, commissioned by Playboy, and documented in a PBS program. He won a Gold Medal from the National Society of Illustrators and an Award of Merit from the Art Directors Guild of New York. His publications include Charles Bragg on Medicine (1984), Charles Bragg: The Works! A Retrospective (1999), and Asylum Earth (2013). Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 54¼ x 34¼. The sports cartoonists who championed “Dem Bums” Original Pencil, Ink and Watercolor inscribed and signed “For Joanne...with love and many thanks from Willard Mullin 1977”. 9x13 visible. Illustration depicts the famous "Brooklyn Bum" by sports artist Willard Mullin. Willard Mullin (1902 - 1978) was an American sports cartoonist. He is well-known for his creation of the "Brooklyn Bum", a representation of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team, which was based on Emmett Kelly's "Weary Willie" hobo persona. He wrote cartoons for several publications including the New York World-Telegram and Sun. This piece comes directly from a family member whose mother was a friend of Mullin and lived in the same condominiums in Florida during the 1970's. As a birthday gift, a hand painted tie was given to Mullin, and in return he gave this illustration. This is one of the nicest depictions of the "Brooklyn Bum" by Willard Mullin. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 22½ x 30½.

Pierre Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), a leader among the Impressionists, is best known for his landscapes and paintings of figures and flowers. Renoir, who also enjoyed painting his children, also painted Claude, the youngest of his three sons (born in 1901 when the artist was 60), at his easel (1907) and dressed in a clown costume (1909). Dry mounted. Edges slightly soiled. Mounting remnants on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition. Mounted by unknown individual. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. Visually striking 9¾x12½ print of a swan in flight, signed by the French painter, affixed to16x20 card stock Printed Art signed: "G Braque", 9¾x12½ print affixed to a 16x20 piece of card stock. French painter Georges Braque (1882-1963) painted everything from landscapes to still-lifes, his style evolving from Impressionism to Fauvism to Cubism. Braque and Picasso were co-developers of the Cubist style. By the time of his death, Braque was considered one of the great elder statesmen of the art world. Additionally. he is credited with producing the first papier collé picture in 1912. Fine condition.

The noted western artist pens os Hong Kong and draws two cartoons illustrating where the best scotch in China can be found Autograph Note on Original Art Signed: "Frederic Remington", 2p, 8x6½, front and verso. Matted by unknown individual: 13x11½ (both sides visible). New Rochelle, New York, no date, Monday. On imprinted "Endion" letterhead to "My dear Julian", journalist Julian Ralph. In full, as written: "Much obliged for the photo. - The[y] move like the patients in a chiropodists ante-room. But its a good photo. - I see there are the G-darndest plagues going in in Hong Kong - Foo-Chin - Ko-so - Fol-hi and other Chinese settlements on the coast that it aint safe this side of the Big Correl fence - I think any man who will go to China would go to Hell for a Pastime. Did you give Willie Bull-calf a good send off? After it published I wont dare go down - some their skinned glad - will push a new kind of edged tool into my mid-riff cause he think I wrote it. Lots of moon-gazers think I write all the letter press that goes with my pictures. I [two words illegible] lots think you also are a drawer I am now pleading with the Cos - tan to get Clark's M.S.…"

The artist signs an image of his plaster statue depicting his lover, Camille Claudel. Postcard Photograph signed: "Rodin". Sepia, 4 x 5½ overall, image 4 x 4¾ (one surface). This signed image of Rodin's plaster statue of his lover, Camille Claudel, is titled: L'Adieu (The Farewell) (1892). His young protégé suffered a mental breakdown in 1898 and was later hospitalized. Rodin's classic realism in sculpture was generally devoted to the sensuality of the human body seen in such works as The Thinker (1880) and The Kiss (1886). Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 23 x 16¼. Frame exhibits wearing at corners.

Deep-relief bust rendering of George Washington's head from an original cast by Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor who created the Mount Rushmore National Monument. Produced to help finance construction of the "shrine of democracy", this model displays Borglum's vision and craftsmanship, and was personally signed by him. Original art signed "Gutzon Borglum/Rushmore" on verso. 4¼x5x2 sculpture mounted on 8x9¼x¼ brown velvet-covered wood board. This is a deep-relief rendering of George Washington's head, from a mold made by the sculptor who created the Mount Rushmore National Monument. Executed before the monument itself, this model reflects Borglum's design in its planning stage. Though a small piece, it is filled with subtle details that breathe life and humanity - and dignity - into its subject. This patriotic piece of Americana is a fine exhibition of Borglum's skills. John Gutzon de la Mothe Borglum (1867-1941), born in St. Charles, Idaho, already famous for creating the great head of Lincoln in the U.S. Capitol rotunda, was commissioned to begin work on a "shrine of democracy" in 1927.

Carl Anderson, Rube Goldberg, Dick Moores, Jerry Scott, Otto Soglow, Pat Sullivan, and Russ Westover sign and draw their own cartons. Comprises: (1) DICK MOORES. Cartoon signed: "Dick Moores". B/w, 5x6¾. Dick Moores (1909-1986), a former assistant to Chester Gould on "Dick Tracy" and a Disney animator, is best known for working with Frank King on "Gasoline Alley", which Moores took over upon King's death in 1969. Fine condition. (2) RUBE GOLDBERG. Original Art inscribed and signed: "Love to/Jane Ann/Bodenheimer/from/Boob McNutt,/Mike & Ike/Pearl &/Bertha/Rube Goldberg./Aug./1934". B/w, 6x7¾. Rube Goldberg (1883-1970), who is also known for his complicated contrivances, has drawn the characters from "Boob McNutt", which he introduced in 1915, on letterhead of The Balsams, Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. Horizontal fold touches characters, light horizontal crease at 2 letters of characters' names. Fine condition. (3) CARL ANDERSON. Original Art signed: "Carl/Anderson". B/w, 4x5¼. Pen and ink drawing of Carl Anderson's (1865-1948) comic strip character Henry, who was picked up by King Features Syndicate in 1934. Mid-horizontal fold at blank area. Fine condition.

1987 Lenny Dykstra personally owned, original artwork by LeRoy Neiman Original Artwork titled "Slugger" and signed "LeRoy Nieman '87" 17 x 23. This distinctive work from the most famous name in sports art was apparently either commissioned by or gifted to Dykstra by Neiman and captures "Nails" in the distinctive pinstriped uniform of that glorious World Championship era. The painting is titled "The Slugger" and autographed by Neiman in pencil at bottom right.  LeRoy Neiman (1921-2012) is best known for his brilliantly colored, energetic illustrations. Based in New York City, he is recognized as the consummate sports artist of the 20th century. In 1972 he was named the official artist for the Olympic Games. He was designated the outstanding sports artist in America by the Amateur Athletic Union (1976) and was given the Olympic Artist of the Century Award in 1979, and Sport Artist of the Year Award in 2007. Len "Nails" Dykstra played outfield for the New York Mets from 1985 to 1989, participating in the World Championship. With the Philadelphia Phillies (1989-1996) he reached the World Series again, this time in a losing effort against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Abraham Lincoln Life Mask copy by Leonard W. Volk. This mask measures 10 ½ high x 10 wide x 8 deep. American sculptor LEONARD VOLK (1828-1895), who studied in Rome with the help of Illinois political figure Stephen A. Douglas, opened a studio in Chicago in 1959. Closely observing Douglas and his rival, Abraham Lincoln, during their debates, he sculpted both men and did Lincoln's life mask and made casts of both of his hands. Volk's monument to Douglas stands in Chicago and statues of Douglas and Lincoln grace the state Capitol in Springfield, Illinois. The sculptor also did portrait busts of Lincoln and a number of other subjects, including Henry Clay. Fine Condition.

One-inch unrepaired vertical tear in canvas located near "80" and signature. Otherwise, fine condition. Peter Max, born in Berlin in 1937, spent most of his first ten years in Shanghai, and then traveled the world with his parents before immigrating to the US in 1953. Already an award-winning graphic artist and designer, Max burst on the cultural scene in the 1960s, first with his "psychedelic art" and then with a new concept, "cosmic art." Max, who works in many mediums, has been the official artist for the Grammy Awards, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the Woodstock Music Festival and 5 Super Bowls. He has decorated a Boeing 747, a Dale Earnhardt racecar, and 265 murals on the US border. He has designed popular US and UN stamps, painted five US Presidents, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the Dalai Lama. He painted individual portraits of 356 firefighters who lost their lives heroically on 9/11, presenting these portraits to the families, and then at President Bush's request designed 356 more for the firefighters' memorial.

He signs an autograph letter thanking a fellow artist for his "articles against the critics." Autograph letter signed: "T-Lautrec", 1 page, 4½x7. No place, no date. To "My dear Marty". In French, translated. In full: "We remain open next week, so you may let it be known. I don't know if I asked you to do it yesterday. Thanks for the articles against the jurists. Cordially" French painter and printmaker Henri Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) is famous for his posters and other images of Parisian nightlife in the "belle époque" of the 1890s. His early painting, "The Laundress", sold for $22.4 million in 2005. The letter is written to young fellow artist Andre Edouard Marty, later a leader of the Art Deco movement. Slightly creased. Ink transference at upper blank margin from folding the letter before ink had dried. Fine condition.
